Hello Andrew

Many people already mentioned StarOffice (I use it, it's an excellent
product).
Just to mention more products, you've KOffice for KDE (development stage),
Gnumeric for Gnome (excellent spreadsheet) and AbiWord (in development,
excellent word processor), all of them are under GPL (IIRC).
Best regards,

Miguel Dilaj

Subject: Excel 97 and Word 97&2000 replacement

Well, I'm sure someone else has already done this.
If not - then I'll do it and post a follow up here in the future.

Anyone worked out for certain what Linux free products can handle
Execl 97 files correctly (and fully)?

Also the same for Word 97 and Word 2000

I want to remove my last monopolistic reliance on MS at home

I currently have 10 working computers: 7 Linux & 3 Windows
Maybe I could make that 2 Windows? :-)

-Cheers
