I haven't gotten any traction on my 2 previous posts so perhaps it is how I asked the question.
RH 7.1 Micron NetFrame LV2000 w/ embedded Adaptec 7800 controller & Adaptec 1000 Raid Array controller. 2 SCSI controllers, hard drives were supposed to be RAID 1 (on the Adaptec 1000 Raid Array controller) but both showed on install so I made software raid figuring I could fix later. I thought this odd since I previously had the RAID working on WinNT 4. Post install will not boot from hard drive - screen says something like - unable to load OS Boots from floppy - I want to end that. I need to end that. In the meantime, I need to make a copy of this bootable floppy to protect myself if something should happen to this disk - how do I make a complete copy of this disk? contents of /etc/lilo.conf > boot=/dev/sda > map=/boot/map > install=/boot/boot.b > prompt > timeout=50 > message=/boot/message > linear > default=linux > > image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.4.2-2 > label=linux > initrd=/boot/initrd-2.4.2-2.img > read-only > root=/dev/md2 I have tried replacing linear with lba32 and re-running lilo -v but it still won't boot from hard drive. If you want the output of lspci or dmesg see my earlier posts with Subject - Micron Netframe LV2000 (2 and 4 days ago) The calm narration of this message belies my real desparation to fix this.
