Thanks Mikkel, You are right, nothing I do to lilo.conf helps.
I'm a little surprised that the bios can't boot hdd. Oh well.

I'll probably not try to mess with grub until I install 7.2.

I no longer boot to my guiness installation, so I guess I'll just
repartition hdb and give myself a /boot there. Would it be easier to just
move hdd to hdb? Would I have to change anything other than /etc/fstab and
/etc/lilo.conf?
