I don't remember ever not seeing them.  Maybe if I follow your
sequence .... I think I'll reinstall the old one and try it again.
I really would like to have sequence I can log somewhere so this won't
happen again.

Probably easier to just boot from toms and then mkbootdisk.  I mainly
want to know how to avoid this.  So I guess I'll do as above, and see
if that cures the dependancy stuff.
