I have installed the BJC-80 using the specified driver, and the LJ3100 using both
the LJ3200 (which should be the same) and the LJ4 drivers. Why does Select Printer
give me only Generic Postscript, Generic Postcript print to file, and PDF Writer?T
I get no response whatsoever from the LJ. From the BJC I get unending gibberish.
There are by now seven jobs in the print spool and I can't get rid of any of them,
even by powering down. I have searched for applicable manual pages to no avail. How
can I clear the spooler?
I need to print the directions for Jean-Claude Martinez's kit for installing the
Alcatel USB modem, without which I can only use dial-up on my portable, since dual
boot to w2k no longer works. In fact, every time I get dual boot working one or the
other leg of it goes down and I have to reinstall that OS, which usually knocks out
the other one. I couldn't figure out how to print from the rpm format in w2k.
I have had a traumatic four months trying to get Linux usable. It makes me feel
totally incompetent and computer illiterate, but I have been working with PCs for 17
years and doing database programming on them for 10. If it's this hard for me to get
it going, how is it ever going to catch on? If I weren't motivated to get away from M$
I would have given up long ago.
