Do you have an account setup in kppp? If you made an account, does it remember that account when you bring up kppp again? On a machine that had no kppp, I installed kdenetwork-ppp, and ran the dialog for kppp. I set the name to 'test' and the phone number to 555-1234. Then I did this: $ cd $ grep -r 555-1234 .kde .kde/share/config/kppprc:Phonenumber=555-1234 $ So, try that grep command for your phone number or the name. If it doesn't find anything in '.kde', try '.*' or just '*'.
