I can't remember if 7.1 comes by default with telnet and ftp turned on.

It does come with xinetd (not inet).

So you have to go to /etc/xinetd.d and edit the proper file ...

i.e. change the following line
        disable         = yes
to no.

then restart xinetd


2 . RAID you mean software RAID??

I am setting that up with RH7.3 during the installation process.

I have setup hardware RAID with hte proper Hardware utilities.
