The one thing I learned the hard way is to first go to the complete 
hardware list and search for your card and see what the status is for 
working with RH7.1. Make sure you are at the right version when you see 
your card. Your card can be listed a few times for the different versions.

Anyway, before installing your card, make sure you are set to boot up in 
runlevel 3. You do this by editing your /etc/inittab to have id:3 not id:5.

Put in your card. Power up and wait for login prompt. As root, run 
Xconfigurator. I never probe card or set clockchip setting when asked.

If Xconfigurator does not see your card and/or monitor correctly but the 
test is OK, that doesn't mean you won't have any issues. If you do get 
issues down the road, run this command instead in runlevel 3, 
'Xconfigurator --nodri'   This will save on memory, give you higher 
resolutions and make a pesty card run better.
