PPTP Security - How secure is it?

Hi Guys,

I am looking at linking in a few external sites to my network using PPTP since 
they are all windows boxes. Does anyone know of any big security holes in this 
protocol. I know IPSEC is better, but it is going to be easier just to use the 
existing software on the machines.

Thoughts and experiences appreciated.
