This all depends on what operating systems you are using in your work
environment.

Although I do not know of any locations where one could find a listing of
hacking applications (mind you a check on SecurityFocus might turn up some
interesting results), an application which I find usefull in terms of
hacking tools and applications is a rootkit check.   I found the following
which offers a script which scans your system for rootkit applications and
evidence that you've been compromised.  Logisically, one who has hacking
tools on your PC would most likely have rootkits as well in order to
compromise root privligdes on that PC.
