Hello All,

I'm not sure what you tried for the default User IDs and passwords but
according to this Web site (http://www.phenoelit.de/dpl/dpl.html), the
default User IDs passwords for the 3COM SuperStack II Switches are as
follows:

2200 - debug/synnet
2700 - tech/tech

David

Indio,

After reading some documentation on 3COM's web site, I found that the only
way to recover the password is if the switch was set up to allow password
recovery. If it is not, then you have to send it back to 3COM where, I
suspect, they will send it back to you with the password set to blank for
the user ADMIN. Here is a link to the document that outlines how to reset
the password provided the switch has been configured for it:

http://support.3com.com/infodeli/tools/switches/ss3/4400/htmcli/securitydevi
ceusermodify.htm

You might also try doing your own search of 3COM's web site if you haven't
already. You might be able to think of some better key-words to search on
in order to get better results. I tried using "password", "lost",
"recover", and "superstack" in different combinations. It appears that 3COM
doesn't support the SuperStack II switches anymore and has very little
documentation about them. Hope this helps.

Virtually,
MarC Eiler
