Just to add to this thread... Maybe you have to look at MIMEDefang for your situation...
Go to the site and read what you can do with MIMEDefang http://www.roaringpenguin.com/mimedefang/ Works fine for me and is very powerfull ! I have it running on Debian linux, Sendmail 8.12.2, Spam Assassin, MIMEDefang and McAfee Virusscan...
