But I haven't added any tabs, and I just double-checked to make sure I
haven't. Also as I mentioned it is a persistent connection. It opens
when I start Messenger and closes when I exit out of Messenger. 

Omar: When you disabled the tab did this McAfee connection go away?
Maybe I have some corrupted registry setting that thinks I have enabled
the McAfee tab.
