Hi,

I did encounter the same, when I implemented Trend Viruswall on Linux for
few cases. I started to regret why I bothered to implement the solution ...

The only workaround is, not to follow the recommendation of Trend: try not
to create to mail queues. Run Trend on the same SMTP / TCP port as the
Sendmail.

When you telnet to port 25, you see the Sendmail details as well as Trend
Details.... this did trap all viruses (and I still believe it to be doing so
... )

And if you have a good ISP side secondary mail server, try and deny direct
mail delivery to your mail server: make all mail come through the ISPs
sec-mail server. This slows traffic, but sure stops spam .. (in case Trend
does open up your mail server as a open-relay).

Alternate: Look at Mail Gateway from Borderware, which has a lot of
anti-relay features and functions. and includes Trend as an Anti-virus
option as well .... and also updates from RBL list on know spam sites.
