Well since its a transmitting/receiving relationship, you need to find the
carrier frequency of the WLAN and perhaps run around with a Field Strength
Meter tuned to this frequency. For this to work properly of course, you'll
need to be able to turn off all the other transceivers. Or else, you will
need some sort of intelligent FSM to be able to decode the signal strength
from the particular IP source you are trying to hunt.

A more complicated system such as a GPS type detector would require
positional "listeners" littered around the area and in-phase out-of-phase
calculations made versus signal strength received by each receiver computed
to to give you approximate locations of the signal source.

Too much work really.

Subject: Wireless LAN question

Hi!

Say an intruder connect himself to my wireless LAN, is there a way with
a GPS and it's signal to know where he is physically? Where can I get
more documentation on that?

Thanks.
