This does not appear to be a common case. A static analysis of 238
million classes in JARs from Maven Central found only only 4 usages
and 1 override, all in versions of
au.net.zeus.jgdms:jgdms-collections:jar.
It's unfortunate that the behavior of this small set of methods had to
change but it was a forced move.
