Like you said, MNF is a great tool to allow network administrator to have a good 
control of their internet link at low price (if you can't afford or configure a cisco 
firewall).
By the way, I have question :

That was all very quietly done!

The one package that I'm running differently than what's in the latest 
MNF is sarg.  I'm running 1.4.1-3mdk from 10.1.  It behaves better than 
in the first iso IMHO.

I agree on the shorewall configuration.  It's by far the easiest way to 
go about it and it has enough flexibility where I don't have to go to 
the command line to edit it.

I think the weakest point in the web GUI is in the servies 
configuration.    I still have to edit files by hand to do some of the 
things I want to do.

I'd still like to see a read only login so non techinical people can 
look at the web logs, etc...
