The internet has been an evil security risk since before I was born. But
Jabber is more of a victim here, like the innocent postman in the context of
mail fraud.

It isn't Jabber asking the user for sensitive information. It's the web
browsers! That's where the real evil is. I propose an online petition
against web browsers.
