Hello, Iam running a sedna-3.1.73 binary distribution on a Ubuntu 8.10 64 Bit installation.
I've created a user 'sedna' as well as a group 'sedna' and executed chown -R sedna:sedna <installation directory> chmod -R g+w <installation directory> I've started the Governor via: sudo -u sedna /usr/local/sedna/bin/se_gov So far so good ;-). The Database shall be accessed via a normal user (e.g. alice) which has been added to the sedna-group. Alice can 'touch' and write files in all folders of the installation directory. But when alice tries to create a database she gets an error: se_cdb test Creating a data base (it can take a few minutes)... SEDNA Message: ERROR SE4400 SEDNA server is not running When I start sedna as sudo -u alice /usr/local/sedna/bin/se_gov everything is fine. Surely a trivial mistake of me somewhere- but does anyone have a clue? Iam pretty sure alice can write all files and directories of the installation. regards, Pete ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SF.Net email is Sponsored by MIX09, March 18-20, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
