If you are opt for a free mailing list manager I would suggest Egroups, 
www.egroups.com. One can choose to receive individual email, digest or 
read on the web.  Moderator may ban any member  or moderate a 
particular member's postings, and lots of features. 

I am managing a few lists with Egorups, and I like it. A small ad at the end 
does not bother subscribers much.
