Your friend does not need to visit web sites.  She needs intervention 
in her home right away.  Tell your friend to call the National Domestic 
Violence Hotline at:

(800) 799-SAFE [same as:(800) 799-7233]

They will then direct her to programs and violence shelters near her 
home.  They will advise her from that point.  Tell your friend, also, 
if she is in present danger, she should call her police.  Now is not 
the time for "understanding" and family counseling, but rather she 
should see to her own safety, first.  The counseling can come later.
