SMU Fall Clinic 2008 White Rock Lake September 6, 2008
This past weekend was the SMU Fall Clinic, with 5 teams in attendance. The weather on White Rock was sunny, with the south wind coming and going. The average wind speed was around 5 knots. We started off with experienced sailors out on the water practicing drills, while new and returning sailors had a chalk talk and then switched into their boats. The afternoon was all about starts and racing. Experienced sailors started us off and then switched off. This allowed new skippers to sail against other new sailors, and made it more comfortable for them to learn and compete. All and all, the clinic was very successful. A big thanks goes to Ryan Glaze for coming out to coach us and spread his wisdom of dinghy sailing. An additional thanks goes to Anderson Jones, Kyle Wilson, and Mark Hulings for helping out. ______________________________________________________ Rachel L.
