For me this is not enough (I also requested this feature, but have
singularly failed to explore what it requires technically). My use
case is this... the user goes to the form with a certain 'object X' in
mind. They either want to edit the page for that object, or create it
if it doesn't exists. So they could search then create / edit with
form (somehow). Or 'search' directly from the 'create / edit'  box of
the form that they know they want to use for the type of object that
they have in mind.

Having autocomplete on this box would reduce the 'surprise' of finding
an object that already exists, and help people to find objects that
they want to edit.

Just one small use case ;-)
