The main issue with RSS currently would be performance, since RSS by its very
nature could lead to many repetitive requests and therefore should be cached
on file level. This is something I would like to do for 1.2.

Great that you like that. There are still some open issues with iCal --
especially our export so far did not work on every client we tried (Outlook
worked but various other clients on Mac and Linux failed for some reason,
even though the export validates as iCal). You can try it on sw.org, e.g.
http://semanticweb.org/wiki/ESWC2008 (iCal link is in infobox).

Currently the SPARQL support comes via adding a RAP triple store, the setup of
which is still somewhat cumbersome (it needs a new DB since it does not
support table prefixes and thus could clash with the MW DB scheme in some
future). Also, it has no "DOS prevention mechanism" like SMW's queries (where
site admins can restrict query complexity and result size), so it is still
problematic for productive use (some queries return the whole semantic
database :-(). We could also consider moving some of RAP's code to SMW for
built-in SPARQLing ... well, I should go back to my current TODOs before
making new projects :-/
