Okay, great! I will then only upload the language file, as we currently have
no way of editing those translations via translatewiki. Maybe some
work-around solution such as a "fake" extension that only hosts those extra
messages before they are converted into our files with some script may be a
solution.

The translations are automatically committed to SVN and are released without
further checks (we couldn't check most of the languages even if we tried). So
a registration is somewhat in order; it would be like anonymous software
development otherwise ;-)

I checked that, but I did not get any such span on my local wiki when viewing
its page source. Does it appear only in certain cases?
You can still file all concerns you have in Mediazilla if you like. If they
can be addressed then we have no reason to deny them, even if they are minor.
