Greetings all,

As many of you know, there is a SenseClusters web server available to
run your experiments.

http://marimba.d.umn.edu/cgi-bin/SC-cgi/index.cgi

Since all of your data, intermediate, and result files are stored on
the server, and I felt it was important to clarify what you can expect
regarding data retention.

First, the server is not backed up! So, if a file is lost or deleted
it can not be recovered.

Second, your files are left on the server for as long as is practical.
Usually this means about 3-6 months. However, if the server is used
rather heavily I might have to delete this data sooner than this. If
you have experimental results you want to save, then you should
download the tar ball that the web interface provides for you as soon
as it is created, just to make sure.

Finally, your data is private. I do not look at this data for any
reason, unless you ask me to help in tracking down a problem in your
experiment. I simply leave it alone and then eventually delete it
based on the date it was created.

Please let me know if you have any questions or requests regarding the
web server, data retention, privacy, etc.

Cordially,
Ted
