Honda's ignition is different than ours along with the way it reads the air.
Remember, the fuel pressure riser works very well in Hondas because of the
Speed density reading of air as opposed to the nissan MAF readings. Nissans
really don't gain much at all with FPR's. They gained like 2 HP or
something, not much, but the Honda's seem to gain very well with these
things. Its just what works well. I think Nissan had to come up with high
output ignitions because of emissions. Even with smaller cams and better
combustion chambers, it still needed a strong igition.
What I can tell you is that the MSD did nothing for Emisions, neither
did the Nology hotwires and profire coil with power core amplifier. I tested
the readings (help of uncle not being charged). I burned with OEm ignition
and magnecores with NGK's a reading of 130ppm HC. The rest of the
ignitions tested exactly the same, so at idle and at 3500 rpm test, they read
virtually the same. I think the Nology burned 1 ppm better at the 3500 test.
