Personally I feel the same way. Whatever shop that deals caraudio, that I 
have ever been into always said, alpine headunits, rockfordfosgate amps, and 
mb quart speakers. This is what I have in mine. And my car is fricking loud. 
I do have a cheap $40 mobile authority eq. The thing is, when you buy cheap 
shit, like for example, I had a rockwood amp, fricking thing blew and took my 
tweeters with it. (at first I thought it was the e.q.)  Spend the money the 
right way first. My mb quart component set was $150 and the rear 6x9's you 
can get for $120, this along with a good headunit will sound good, hook up an 
amp to all speakers, better, get some subs and another amp and now your 
bumping. I am not saying the other companies suck, but face it, take a look 
in the car audio catalogs, see who wins the awards and then make a 
decision...Or get a job in circuit city or somewhere for a week, buy your
