The cost was around $500 and some change, this is with s/h from Dunrite
Converters. The tc cost $385, I ate the $100 core charge as well. As far as
improvements, I rated the tc upgrade as my #2 mod to date. The JWT ecu is
#1. I felt a difference in the take off, I also noticed a drop in lag when
the tranny shifts gears. It's also getting harder for me to say how it
feels, since I've had the upgraded tc in my tranny for 2yrs, gotten used to
it being there. With a 3k rpm stall, I'm positive that the JWT cams will be
a welcome addition to my car. As far as the valve body kit, yes, I'm looking
at doing that mod as soon as Tony at Dunrite Converters can get around to
it. As to what is a better option, I autocross and don't have any plans to
drag race, so I plan to stick with my a/t. If you plan on going turbo or a
big shot of juice, then I would stay with the auto tranny and get the
upgraded tc. If you plan to run n/a drag racing, I say swap to a 5spd. It's
really depends on what your ultimate goal is for your car. Mine is
autocrossing while staying n/a, which I think that I should be fine.
