where are you from orlando? here in the Philippines, this thing always happen. though
now, the government has done something about this. before clear normal frosted tails.
now in major cars like civics, lancers, and corollas, the trend is having crystal type
head, turn and tail combination lamps. though i think crystal type tail lamps are much
better than clear frosted lamps. because these crystal type tails have transparent
lenses then have brake lamps covered by another red lens. though still turn lamps emit
white lights, these are much better replacements than the aftermarket clear tails. now
carmakers in the philippines decided to update lights of their models to these crystal
type head, turn and tail lamps. it is still better to stick with original or stock
lapms than these aftermarket lamps. they are more durable and they are safer.

7. Clear tail lights

>-------------------- 7 --------------------
>I was in a bumper to bumper traffic on my way home minutes ago (It's night
>here). And unfortunately, the car in front of me has clear tail lights. Why
>unfortunate? Well, the guy used plain white bulbs for the brake lights. And
>everytime the guy press on his brake, I get 4x23Watts of white light staring
>at me in the face... It has become more like a head light than a tail light.
>Other than ruining my night vision, I felt that I was straining my eyes in
>the process. It makes me wonder if these kinds of lights are street-legal..
>
>Don't get me wrong. It's not that I *hate* clear tails.. It's just that,
>when they do use clear tails, they could've used tinted bulbs (red, for
>instance for the brake lights). It would at least difuse the light to a
>degree wherein human eyes would be more comfortable. Also, seeing a red
>light as opposed to bright white light is much less confusing.
>
>Back to the car in front of me.... The driver then decided to turn right on
>the next corner and started flashing his turn signal. Guess what? He was
>using a bright blue bulb for the turn signals! The lights were flashing for
>at least 3 mins before traffic started moving again, giving him some space
>to turn right. A few more minutes with that and I would've come home with a
>splitting headache.
>
>Just my 2c.
