We have correlated with lab values....quite sensitive. Lab reporting often is delayed, hence trending becomes difficult. POC gives us near accurate report in two minutes. The reducing trend indicates quality resuscitation. As the values of venous (high) and arterial lactate are different, the trend analysis has to be done in either arterial or venous lactate only!
