I am wanting to see if anyone is using Procalcitonin levels and in what
way are they being utilized in your facility. From what I am reading, in the
guidelines, they are a "suggestion" and not a "recommendation" at this time but
I am wanting to learn how others might be using them in the emergency room,
inpatient setting, etc...
1. Are they being used to deescalate antibiotics?
2. Sepsis screening, identification of patients with a bacterial infection?
3. Used in conjunction with blood cultures in some way?
4. What is the turnaround time?
5. Are they done on site as an assay or sent out?
Thanks in advance
