Guidelines do allow use of the EMS record as long as it is scanned and is part of the permanent record. I don't see why an antibiotic could not be taken from the EMS record as long as it is clear which antibiotic was given and the start time.

I'm sure it would be difficult to capture because they often do not provide us with the EMS record and when they do information is typically vague. I sometimes see they administer fluids but all require elements for abstraction are not included i.e. rate, start time. We have communicated this but because there are so many different EMS it is difficult to get the message across.
