Hi Emmanuel,

Speaking for Continuent, we still have a strong interest in Sequoia and are
continuing development on the commercial side.

1.) Open source contributions to Sequoia. We made a decision recently to
open source the commercial extensions to Sequoia, which is to say the code
that makes up uni/cluster. I was going to make an announcement this month
so I might as well announce it now. This includes tests as well as the GUI
console. We plan to release under GPL to protect the IP from commercial
exploitation. If there¹s a reasonable way to release docs, we will do this
as well.

2.) On-going development. We are continuing development on Sequoia and
related code though at this time most of our effort goes into projects like
myosotis and hedera. We also plan to keep supporting uni/cluster. We
therefore have an abiding interest in this code.

3.) Hosting. Ironically enough, we are moving our hosting into Amazon where
we can actually use our own technology to protect the code and data better.
There have been a series pretty bad outages at the current location for
reasons outside our control. Also, the Forge badly needs an upgrade and
clean-up.

This is a good time to discuss the next steps, especially on hosting.
In principle I have nothing against a ³neutral² location for Sequoia but
would point out that we are in fact pretty involved, especially in related
projects. Though we are less involved in the core of Sequoia these days we
still support the project in a number of ways and wish to see it continue to
prosper.

Looking forward to additional discussion,

Robert
