In case anyone is interested, http://www.xs4all.nl/~mvz/software/msgconv.org.html provides conversion from .MSG -> mbox. Perhaps someone wants to write a respository type that can handle a directory of such files.
Link is dead (for me). Also, isn't .msg just a single email file, like how Outlook forwards a message, so this would be for email processing. A normal outlook mailbox repository is a .pst file.
