We should encourage authentication or SMIME signing usage.
IMHO we can support IP only in AuthorizedAddresses.

As you already done a good job identifying the needed steps you can add
separate issues and tell us the dependecies (if any) between issues so that
we can link them (please use Improvement/New feature as issue type, and 3.0
as fix version)
Eventually add "Task" issues if you plan to investigate on best
configurations/usage of ipv4/ipv6 for mail servers environments so you will
have a place to add comments with the news.
