If I were you I would read the IMAP spec (RFC 3501) three, four, five
times before you get too far into designing your mailstore--if you
haven't already. And at least a couple of times through MIME (RFC 2045).
If I were you I also wouldn't worry too much about making the mailstore
overly general. Unless you are planning to access it using something
besides an e-mail client?
