Sorry, I didn't want to start any flames and I don't think that you were
wrong believing that a committer should run the tests before committing.

Sorry to you, I don't think *you* started the flame, I think we all
started a discussion that doesn't worth the time (imho).
If after this full thread someone feel this is not a good practice (and
feel others think the same) just make a proposal to be voted.
I will do the same if I'll see more long time failing tests in the
repository.
