I would also would like to know if James 2.3.0 works in a non-sun jvm.
From a recent bug report it seems that it doesn't even work on Sun Java
6 (problems with SSL).
I know James Server 2.3.0 works on Sun Java 1.4 and 5. This is valid for
SSL and SMIME stuff too, not sure about the JMX stuff (maybe Bernd can
make a summary of his knowledge aboud this).
IIRC we have a bug in JIRA reporting that James does not run in the IBM
JVM, but I can't find it right now and the last time I used an IBM JVM
was 2 years ago. At that time IIRC I wasn't able to run James (2.2.0)
over IBM JVM.
