Hello,

Thanks for bringing the roadmap refresher topic up!

Should we add as well a roadmap section in Antora doc for example?

Duplicated information is a recipe for partial updates and consistency issues.

(True with Cassandra, even more with humans)

So IMO -1.

I would think regarding main goals that:

- the distributed mail server is already stable and might not need to
keep figuring in this section?

maybe switch from providing (done) to maintaining like for JPA
IMO we already maintain all parts of Apache James including JPA and distributed server.

Is this relevant to explicitly state what we maintain?

- we are working on a postgres reactive based implementation of James
for smaller deployments as an alternative to JPA

that´s for incoming work isn't it ?

Incoming work:

- is Antora doc still a point? Maybe some bits still missing before
really releasing it officially

It feels like the documentation situation is not so great atm. the maven
site still holds a lot of information but has quite a few dead links, the
antora also has information but also lots of empty placeholders. its
unclear to me where to invest my time and I end up not doing anything wrt
to documentation :/ if there are Epics/Parent Jira issues for the various
items could it be worth linking to them from the roadmap ?

+1

I would be in favor of eventually completing the Antora documentation and dropping the maven-site one.

Let's create it?

- Guice based applications: been promoted, just still need the removal
step on James 4.0.0

I think the deprecation notice should remain on the roadmap
+1

- anything else worth mentioning?

pulsar integration ? its slow but it's getting there (my SMTP server has
been running on the internet for a couple months now)

Should we add as well a roadmap section in Antora doc for example?
