no access

I have james up and running I can send mail out no problem. getting 
mail from an out side source does not happen. I have created two 
accounts,  from the server I can send msg back and forth from those 
accounts, how ever I am unable to access them from  any other computer 
. operations time out . DNS is correct MX records are there.
What else could be wrong
