This is my mail reader program error

Log files are not written when I try to send a message, the server
seems to be unreacheable.
Note that from this mail reader program I can read mail from the
server, only sending doesn't works

Wha's the problem?
What is the error you are receiving?
Does james say that you are not allowed to relay?
Can you look in the logs to find out what happens to your sending session?
