after going through the code umpteen times.
I reviewed my config file.
did not uncomment the smtphandlerchainConfig

now to put in the code to tarpit on IP.

when I look in the Smtp.log I use to see what I now see in the mailet.log.
now in the smtp.log I see
sucessfully spooled mail
and in the mailet I see
not mx, a or cname found

I also don't see the ehelo check

to me as soon as the IP opens and ehelo is do there used to be a message
about no valid domain for the iP and No valid mx,a,canme and tarpiting
would be on any further attemps by that IP to process emails.
It looks like now tarpitting is only done on the recipient list.

I had a version of james that would checked the validity in the smtp
module and tar pit the user if the ip did not come up with a valid MX or
domain.
I since replace that code, which is now lost, with 2.3.2.
it seems to do this process after tne smtp module so lets a lot of non
valid IP get processed.

Have a missed a configuration?
