"I had a mail server with around 850–900 GB of emails and plenty of
attachments. After migrating another company to our setup, which added
roughly 300 GB more, our Stalwart-based server began to struggle
noticeably. This showed up primarily as severe delays in receiving emails
(IMAP IDLE). After separating the database to MySQL and moving blob storage
to an XFS filesystem, things improved significantly: email synchronization
dropped from taking anywhere between 5 minutes to 5 hours down to about 2–3
minutes."
