No, web services is a set of specifications that software systems have to
support. The Jini system is a set of specifications.
Where do we draw the line between what's useful and what is not useful? How do
you decide? Is this the lemming law? I.e. because one group is doing it,
others should just get in line and follow along? The decision processes, as
has
been discussed here by many, seems to be perilously hugging the wall of
ignorance.
