SOAP and HTTP are not architectures. Folks have pitted REST vs. SOA
(here and elsewhere) as architectures .. and Mike's note was saying that
the Amazon case is pretty strong proof that here's something to this SOA
thang.

Who said anything about SOAP? Mike did not. Werner did not either. The
comment from Mike (and the point of the article) was about the genuine
business value of service-oriented architectures.
