On this, I do think this is why SOA has many IT
manager's attention and interest beyond the latest
technology fad.   

Having said this, I think there is a pendulum.  Swing
too far in the way of ignoring technology, it will
bite you in the end.   Swing too far in the way of
ignoring economics & politics, and you will likewise
fail....
