I would say that ADO.NET is the equivalent of SDO. Even IBM says so  
on http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/java/library/j-sdo/:  
"ADO .NET and SDO share similar motivators for supporting XML and  
applications distributed on multiple tiers."
