I am surprised that an experienced analyst would make the claim that
because there's a paper out there that makes some assertions that that's
the final word on a given set of technologies. I have read tons of
research papers and written quite a few too .. and in my experience people

don't get so carried away with any one paper.

Eric, this is a waste of time. REST is now the hot chick in town. Its on
the uptick of the hype curve. Atom is going to be taking over soon. Until
we get past the top of the hype curve its impossible to have intelligent,
analytical, critical conversations with the fanatics. As with all
technologies REST is superb for some problems not for others. Same can be
said about WS-*. Neither is the final solution.

And I have to ask myself too why I feel the need to reply to these
messages.
