Well, I've yet to see a WS-* solution that couldn't be done better
(i.e. with greater amounts of desirable architectural properties) on
the Web (note that I didn't say "REST").  So I have to disagree.

That's what I've been saying for about 8 years now; the Web is an
*improvement* upon architectural styles like CORBA and DCOM.  It's not
a different system for different problems.  It's very large scale
CORBA.
